NIGEL BRIDGES cabinetmaker and artist craftsman

BLACK BOX: 2001
Macassar ebony, boxwood catches, stainless steel, printed circuit board and found deer antler.
8½" x 6½" x 7" high
£550 (postage and packaging is £20 within UK)

I made this box influenced by the idea of the aeroplane's flight recorder. Following an air disaster the black box is sought  for evidence of what went wrong. It represents a modern form of memento mori. This piece was completed before 9/11 but that event makes it even more pertinent.
